There are moments in high jewellery where craftsmanship becomes more than adornment. It becomes memory, movement, history, and, in Chaumet’s case, a living conversation with nature.

This May, Parisian High Jewellery Maison Chaumet concluded its private Jewels by Nature event at Cociety Seongsu in Seoul, presenting a sensorial journey that brought together nature, art, Korean cultural expression, and the Maison’s centuries-old jewellery heritage.

For Chaumet, nature has never been a decorative afterthought. Since 1780, when founder Marie-Étienne Nitot established his workshop, the Maison has held the living world close to its identity. Nitot famously signed his letters as a “naturalist jeweller”, a philosophy that would go on to shape Chaumet’s visual language for generations.

That botanical sensibility later found a natural connection with Empress Joséphine, whose passion for plants and gardens became deeply intertwined with the Maison’s stylistic vocabulary. Today, that same fascination continues to flourish through Chaumet’s High Jewellery creations, where leaves, flowers, movement, and organic forms are reimagined through precious stones and exceptional craftsmanship.

A Meeting Of Parisian Craftsmanship And Korean Art

For the Seoul presentation of Jewels by Nature, Chaumet collaborated with Korean artist Miso Shim, known for her contemporary reinterpretation of Minhwa, the traditional Korean folk painting style.

Her visual creations drew inspiration from a curated selection of Chaumet’s historic and contemporary tiaras, creating a dialogue between Parisian jewellery-making and Korean artistic heritage. The result was not simply an exhibition, but a layered experience where past and present moved together with quiet precision.

Inside the exhibition, guests were welcomed into a scenography inspired by nature. The journey began with a room that placed Chaumet’s emblematic heritage tiaras alongside contemporary creations, revealing the depth of time within the Maison’s archive.

From there, the sculptural language of the tiara flowed into the Joséphine signature collection, where elegant silhouettes and refined details were reinterpreted through coloured gemstones. The experience then culminated in the Jewels by Nature High Jewellery collection, capturing the vitality, delicacy, and movement of the natural world through radiant stones and intricate design.

Song Hye Kyo Attends Chaumet’s Jewels by Nature Event

Adding to the occasion, Chaumet global brand ambassador Song Hye Kyo attended the Seoul event, bringing an understated elegance to the presentation.

Her presence reflected the Maison’s signature codes: serene, refined, and quietly powerful. Against the exhibition’s nature-led setting, the appearance offered a graceful continuation of Chaumet’s vision — one where jewellery is not only seen, but felt through atmosphere, artistry, and emotion.

A Private Dinner At The French Embassy In Seoul

The event concluded on 20 May with a private dinner at the French Embassy in Seoul.

For the evening, Michelin-starred chef Son Jong Won curated an exclusive menu for Chaumet, extending the exhibition’s sensory narrative into gastronomy. The dinner was accompanied by a jewellery show and a performance by soprano Hera Hyesang Park, the first Asian soprano to sign an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon.

It was a fitting close to the event: French heritage, Korean artistry, fine jewellery, music, and gastronomy coming together in one refined expression.

Through Jewels by Nature, Chaumet presented more than a High Jewellery collection. It offered a meditation on nature, time, and craftsmanship — a reminder that true luxury often lives in the details that continue to bloom long after the moment has passed.
